AMCU approves EBRD's acquisition of stake in Euroins Insurance Group

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has approved the acquisition of a stake in Euroins Insurance Group by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The decision was made at a meeting of the AMCU on 22 February.

The merger clearance was required because Euroins Insurance Group has two subsidiaries in Ukraine: Euroins Ukraine and European Travel Insurance.

The Antimonopoly Committee reviews mergers and acquisitions to prevent situations where certain entities monopolise the market.

As a reminder, the EBRD is a major investor in Bulgaria and in 2021 acquired a minority stake in Euroins Insurance Group. The EBRD's investments help us to improve corporate governance, digitalise and develop insurance products.
